A crowd of just over 31, 000 also included the club’s prospective new owner, Tod Boely watching in the stands.

Despite enjoying the lions share of the possession – the blues fell behind to a James Maddison thunderbolt strike in the sixth minute.

The World Champions were though level on 35 minutes with a well worked move that saw Marcus Alonso score the equalizer.

The second half was all Chelsea who missed a hat full of chances to win the match.

Foxes manager Brendan Rogers admitted after the game that his side had come up against a quality side and it was a point well learnt.

With everything that’s gone on at the West London club on and off the pitch this year, Chelsea Head Coach Thomas Tuchel was asked if this season ranks as one of the most challenging in his time as a club manager?
